And the Basket Fills Up

i have an appointment. i have somewhere to be. i have a job interview. to a person like me, a person who ceremoniously puts all of her eggs in one basket, this is a big deal. i will wear make-up. i will not wear pajama bottoms and a sweater and call it an outfit.

now, for some context:
i have never not had a job since i was 18. even in college i would go home on the weekends to work on the coffee cart. not working turns me into a sad, pajama wearing, bed head sporting, two pots of coffee drinking, maker of mental lists of "reasons why i am a skill-less loser". it is not pretty...

the interview is for a good job. a job i could do well in. this job would not require a box cutter or a nametag. my wonderful token gay friend, nick, got me the interview and has prepped me for it. please pray for me.

but before you pray for me, please pray for my dear friend, angela. her dad's cancer is spreading rapidly. he is just now starting to feel sick from the cancer. her dad's name is mike. he's a really great guy. he's a lot like our dad in that he's a good ol' boy with a set of good ol' boy values. you can have a conversation with him about anything; even though in his head he's probably wondering if you take illegal drugs (and if you have given his daughter any), he is completely engaged and interested. i love angela and her husband justin, and i love her family. i hate that this is happening to them.

have a swell time together today. show the children pictures of their forlorn auntie emmy. remind them that they should never quit their job before they have another one.

one last item: micah now has a blog. www.yeslets.blogspot.com

Maybe skip the bottoms or the sweater altogether and see if that gets you anywhere. You seem motivated, let's see...
