Reasons Why My Job Effing Rules (so far):

1) my co-workers. there are four of them. none are in any way ridiculous people.

2) no nametag. this is important. please imagine how annoying it is when a you say, "can i help you?" and the customer says, "yes...emily. oh, what a lovely name! that was my great grandmother's name." or, "of course you can help me...emily. that is my daughter's name. we spell it e-m-y-z-x-c-a-a-a-a-l-e-e-e-y."

3) i eat for free all day. this rules. this rules so hard.

4) the store plays good music all day. the boss is a former tour manager and has zero tolerance for bad music. this also rules.

5) you can't beat the commute with a stick. 33 seconds by foot. riding my bike would be silly.

6) the discounts. tonight, i bought raviollis, wine and house olive oil that i bottled myself. $15.

7) they don't care if i need sunday mornings off. sundays mornings off have been a problem at almost every job i've ever had. there have been an array of consequences from this request; they include the employer agreeing, but with a tilt of the head and a, "okay, i guess you gotta do whatcha gotta do" or the employer and co-workers apologizing every time they curse.

so, so far the job is great. i may also work at rudy's, but even if i don't we'll be getting by fine moneywise. i think that will be the name of my new band-- moneywise.
